Kiambu Fentress, Director of Development

Kiambu Fentress is one of the most well known and respected coaches in the Nashville area. Kiambu graduated from Ensworth High School and continued his career at Vanderbilt University, contributing to the 2019 SEC Tournament Championship and eventual NCAA National Championship.

In 2021 Kiambu transitioned from player to coach and joined the Philadelphia Phillies as an infield coach in the minor league ranks.

Kiambu is involved in the Make A Play Foundation, and is a founder of digital content series The Two Percent.

Ryan Caldwell, Development Instructor

Ryan Caldwell is a native of Nashville, TN, graduating from Ezell Harding Christian school before being drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2015.

With a deep passion for developing young baseball players, Ryan has established himself as one of the most sought after baseball instructors in the area. Specializing in hitting and defense, Ryan will help sharpen your player’s skills and build confidence.

Dr. Tyler Ward, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS

Tyler is a native of southern Indiana, where he spent four years as a pitcher at Indiana State University.  Tyler is in the top 10 all time of innings pitched for the Sycamores, earning Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American accolades, and helping his team to multiple seasons ranked in the top 25.

After his playing career, Tyler entered the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program while serving as a graduate assistant coach at Indiana State.   After completing the doctoral program, Tyler entered his residency in Sports Physical Therapy at Houston Methodist.  

In 2024 Tyler served as a Minor League Physical Therapist with the New York Mets organization.  Tyler recently relocated to Nashville full time and opened his business, The Shop Physical Therapy.  

Tyler is now available to provide arm care programs, injury rehabilitation and prevention, and pitching lessons.  Additionally, Tyler offers advanced physical therapy services that include cupping, dry needling, BFR, and many others.

Jack Rando, Infield/Hitting Instructor

Jack Rando is a native of the Nashville area, graduating from Brentwood High School followed by four years with the Belmont Bruins.

While at Belmont, Jack appeared in 184 games and made 153 starts. During his senior season in 2024, Jack posted a .308 batting average with 41 RBIs and 8 home runs, earning all conference honorable mention accolades.

Jack is currently on the Vanderbilt Baseball staff as a student assistant coach wile pursuing his master’s degree. Due to his position with the Vandy Boys, Jack is only able to work with players in 8th grade or younger.

Jeremy Brown, Hitting/1st Base Instructor

Jeremy Brown is a native of St. Paul, MN, where he played JUCO baseball at Anoka Ramsey Community College. In his Freshman season Jeremy batted .402 with a .637 slugging percentage, earning all conference and all region honors.

After JUCO Jeremy continued his career at Columbus St in Georgia, followed by USC Beaufort. During his final season in 2025 Jeremy led the Sand Sharks in home runs and RBIs.

Chris Botsoe, Development Coordinator

Chris is a native of Chicago, with a college career that included stops at Louisville, Iowa Western Community College, and Eastern Kentucky University.

Chris began coaching immediately after his playing days, with time as a Graduate Assistant at Eastern Kentucky, and as an assistant at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

For the past three years, Chris has served as an area scout with the Oakland A’s, covering Tennessee, Alabama, and the Florida Pan Handle.

Chris has seen the best players in the region, and is at Hit City to help you be one of those players.

Joshua South, Pitching Coach

Joshua South was a four year starter for the Belmont Bruins. A native of Cookeville, TN, Joshua was a four time all conference selection and is the only pitcher in Belmont history to be named as a two time preseason pitcher of the year. After graduating, Joshua was selected to the first year of the MLB Draft League and later played with the Savannah Bananas. Joshua is available to provide individual and small group pitching lessons.

Jake Lynch- Left Handed Pitcher

Jake Lynch is a native of Wheaton, Illinois where he was a multi-sport star in high school. Jake began his collegiate baseball career by redshirting at Murray State in 2021, followed by a transfer to Lincoln Trail Community College.

Jake has spent the last two seasons at Lipscomb University. In 2025 Jake lead the Bisons and A-Sun Conference with 26 appearances out of the bullpen, tallying 47 strikeouts in 44.2 innings pitched with a 3.05 ERA.

Jake spent this summer with the West Virginia Black Bears, going 2-1 while helping his team to a league championship.

Jackson Campbell, Catching Coach

Jackson Campbell was a fixture behind the plate for the Belmont Bruins from 2018-2022. Along with being named as a team captain for his junior and senior seasons, Jackson was a three time nominee for the Buster Posey Catcher of the Year award. In Jackson’s senior year he was ranked in the top 30 of all catchers by D1Baseball.com.
